Why Did They Stay So Long?
Sunita and Butch traveled to space in June 2024 on a spaceship called Starliner. This spaceship had some problems and was not safe enough to bring them back to earth. Because of this, they had to stay in space for long timeand NASA was trying to find a safe way to bring back to earth.
How Did They Come Back?
Since Starliner could not bring them back to earth so NASA decide to use another spaceship called Dragon. Dragon is made by a company called SpaceX, which is owned by Elon Musk. On March 18, 2025, Sunita and Butch returned to Earth in the Dragon spaceship. They landed safely in the ocean near Florida.
What Did They Do in Space?
Even though they stayed longer than planned, Sunita and Butch kept working. They did important science experiments and helped fix things on the space station. They also spoke to people on Earth, teaching them about space.
How Are They Now?
After spending so much time in space, their bodies need some time to adjust according to Earth’s gravity.
